E-Justice Project is seeking a passionate plaintiff advocate for  plaintiff-side labor and employment law. Experience with wrongful termination, discrimination, disability, and wage and hour matters.  Should be familiar with the process of filing complaints with EEOC, CCRD, NLRB, and PAGA, as well as be familiar with their respective processes. 

This position is about educating clients on their rights, providing zealous advocacy, negotiating appropriate prelitigation resolutions, and litigating when necessary.  

Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensed and in good standing with California Bar

  • Some experience with labor and employment claims

  • Interest in practicing Labor and Employment Law

  • True Client Advocate - strong desire to passionately advocate for clients

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has at least a year of experience with labor and employment law, and is passionate about advocating for and educating clients. Even if you only have less than a year of experience, but are eager to learn and grow, are a self-starter, and quick learner, we are willing to train the right individual.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive legal advice to clients on a variety of labor and employment issues.

  • Conduct legal research and factual investigation to prepare legal documents and develop strategies.

  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.

  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure effective client service.

  • Educate clients about their rights and obligations under various labor and employment laws.

  • Adhere to firms processes, procedures, and practices.

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest legal and industry developments affecting labor and employment law.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Willingness to listen to potential clients and educate them on their labor and employment rights

  • Ability to explain the law in a fashion that clients and potential clients can understand

  • Draft compelling correspondence and legal documents

  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills

  • Ability to effectively manage your own caseload

  • Ability to drive a case from lead to litigation

  • Self Starter - able to self-direct and work independently

  • Team Player - Willingness to collaborate on strategy and best practices

This is a client-focused position with a growing client-focused firm. Lots of opportunities for growth for the right individual.  Flexible work schedule.  

Salary $70,000 to $90,000 depending on experience, plus substantial bonuses
